Endoscopic Sinus Surgery (ESS) has been accepted worldwide as the most popular surgical technique for nasal and paranasal sinus diseases. The favorable results of ESS do not only depend on the modern instruments, pre- & post-operative care but also on the surgeon’s skills and their knowledge on the gross and radiologic anatomy of the nose & paranasal sinuses and skull base.

This hands-on workshop for endoscopic sinus surgery at Khon Kaen University has been held since 2000 by the division of Rhino-allergy of Department of Otorhinolaryngology in co-operation with Department of Anatomy and Department of Radiology, Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University. Recently, the workshop extends beyond sinus to skull base surgery. It is an opportunity for the participants to gain their knowledge in endoscopic sinus and skull base surgery as well as skills with realistic experiences from practicing on the fresh cadavers with CT scan of paranasal sinuses as a roadmap is available for every station under-supervision of all experience instructors.
